MMC-MTDC transmission system with partially hybrid branches

چکیده
This paper proposes a hybrid submodule modular multilevel converter (MMC) topology which is suitable for multi terminal direct current (MTDC) transmission systems. Each arm of the proposed MMC consists half-bridge (HBSM) branch and two parallel full-bridge (FBSM) branches. Comparing with conventional MTDC system, can selectively block DC fault isolate corresponding line without expensive circuit breakers (DCCBs). Thus, influence range be reduced reliability power supply improved as well. The modulation voltage balancing strategies are developed topology. feasibility control strategy verified in MATLAB/ Simulink simulation.
